Who’s Mick Kjar?

Mick grew up listening to the radio… in the pickup and on the tractor.  He knew he wanted to be that voice on the radio.  Classes at Concordia College, North Dakota State University and Brown Institute in Minneapolis led to his dream.  After 15 years in radio Mick jumped at the chance to do weekend weather at KTHI-TV11.

A year and half later, Mick was tapped to anchor News11’s morning show and be the station’s agricultural reporter.  Finally, a chance to do news, agriculture news and weather.  But “ripping and reading” the wire service weather reports wasn’t good enough.  Mick knew he and the valley’s farmers needed to know as much as they could about the weather.  So Mick got his degree in meteorology from the University of North Dakota while still working full time!
